To which feminine perfume is a mid-age Portuguese man most attracted?

Is it the scent of jasmin, roses accents, spicy scent, lemony or sweet or other specific odors that they prefer and why do you think that is?To which feminine perfume is a mid-age Portuguese man most attracted?
...Go for a floral or Oriental scent and here is the reason why:

Drs. Herbert Hirschmann and Giancarlo DelDucci of the Centre for ChemoSensory Research at the Oxford did a study on the effects of various types of olfactory stimuli on male participants. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of certain olfactory stimuli on male human behavior. The study participants were men ranging from age 18 to 65 from selected ethnic groups (Mediterranean, Teutons and Asian).

The results of the study were reported at the 2004 Association for Chemoreception Sciences and the results of the study, have sent perfume-makers (and their marketers) rushing back to their labs.

Each of the olfatory families used in making perfume were tested on each of the participants of the study. Those olfatory families included the following scents:

Floral (single scent: jasmine, multiplie scent: predominate: rose)

Chypre (bergamont, apricot, custard)

Fougere (sharp herbaceous, woody scent)

Leather (tobacco, wood and wood tars)

Woody (sandlewood, cedar, patchouli)

Orientals (incense, vanilla, animal scents - musk, ambergris) and

Citrus (lemon, grapefruit, lemongrass)

Each participant in the study was placed in a sterile lab room and given a swatch of coated paper that contained one of the scents. The participant spent two hours in the room and, in addition to electrodal reactions, each was asked to record his reactions to the stimulus. They were then asked to select the two scents they preferred the most.

In brief, the study showed that the majority of Asian men (63%) preferred the citrus and chypre scents. They found the citrus stimulus to be ';refreshing'; and ';invigorating';. Their blood pressure dropped, their heart rate slowed and they reported feelings of optimisim. The chypre scent slightly raised their pulse and heart rate and the participants reported feelings of sexual thoughts and arousal.

82% of the Mediterrannean men prefered the floral and Oriental scents. Both scents caused rapid eye moments, increased heart rates and increased electrodal reactions in these men. The men described reactions to the floral scents as ';intensely pleasurable'; as well as ';romantic'; feelings. The Oriental scents showed definitive reactions of sexual stimulation including, Dr. Hirschmann reported, an increased blood flow to the penis. The men described their reactions to the Oriental scents ';exotic'; and ';sultry.';

Among the Teuton men, 93% preferred the leather scent as their first choice. Of that 93%, 68% of them described their reactions to the scent as ';pleasurable';, ';assertive'; and ';stimulating.'; The doctors reported a marked increase in the subjects heart rate, pulse, aggressiveness and sexual stimulation. The second choice by these men was the Fougere scent. Ironically, the subjects had almost the same physiological and emotional reaction with the additional response noted as ';sentimentality.';To which feminine perfume is a mid-age Portuguese man most attracted?
Better check the Peter Revson/ Francois De La Vommissez study first. Contradicts about half of this one. Probably that Gaul vs Teuton thing. Of course the Itichi Nosagumo study was pretty much bogus, and he stole from both of the above. Report Abuse

This one is easy! Gianni Versace original scent. I thik you can order it online through their website. It's a flowery, kind of oriental scent, but an evening scent as well. Very lovely and unforgettable! lus it comes in a great art deco bottle for as little as $20.00!!!

Why don't you ask the mid-age Portuguese man?!? It really depends on the man.
what would make a difference if he is portugese or chinese? myself, i like the lighter fragrances that don't over power, yet add to the womans scent...does that help?
middleages....hmmmmmm...ChanelNo5
Rose would be great, only if it had a herbal kick to it.
