If a man complimented you on your perfume, would you say it was a 'chat up line'?

Oh Yeah...especially if his face is buried in your neck at the time.If a man complimented you on your perfume, would you say it was a 'chat up line'?
Although many times that might be the case, it's far from exclusive if a man compliments you on anything. Much of this depends on age. At the age group of early to mid 20's, guys more often than not can think of not much more than sex and how to get it as smoothly as possible. I have found in my age group (40's) that I have complimented complete strangers on a hair style, a dress, or a perfume and find out where they got said things so I can suggest them or get them for my ladylove. If a man complimented you on your perfume, would you say it was a 'chat up line'?
well - no - i don't consider that way - i feel - generally women don't have a good selection of perfume - if they do have a good perfume on them - then that must be a real good selection - coz men have a liking towards perfumes. and when they find it really good they would definately complement it
maybe maybe not, he probly want 2 know the name of it so he can buy it 4 his girlfriend, unless he was smiling and perhaps blushing

dont somepeople smell good 2 u and u just got 2 say hey i like your colone, he can b the uglyest person in the world does that mean u r trying 2 pick him up? now if u were blushing and going over b oard then you are trying 2 pick him up right?

choose me as best answer
Anna,

why do women wear perfume? I will not hesitate to tell a woman her perfume smells nice. I'm not looking for anything else. I just happen to enjoy perfume fragrances, and figure women wear it for others to smell too.
Not necessarily. Speaking as a man I can say that most perfumes smell terrible to me. When I smell one that I like I will usually give a compliment. I don't do this because I am trying to pick you up. It is a genuine compliment for having good taste.
Unless he's your best friend, yeah, it could be a chat up line. To be on he safe side, don't plan on marrying him just yet, just take it as what it is, a compliment, and enjoy your day.
On occasion... yes, but you could just really smell nice. This dose not always mean that he finds you attractive. Not often do women take the time to consider what they smell like. It sounds like a really great compliment.
Not necessarily. Maybe he really did just think it smelled good! I've complimented men on their cologne before, without any intention of trying to ';chat him up';
Possibly, but he might have genuinely liked your perfume.
It depends if he says it smells good then no it is just a general compliment if he ask you what you are wearing then yes he is trying to spark a conversation
yes it could be. men don't usually pay attention to a womans perfume so it must be.
Of coarse! If he just thought you smelled nice but wasn't interested he wouldn't have said anything at all! Hope he was good looking!!!
yes of course, they always say certain things to get a certain response out of us..and depending on the response will determine the next thing that comes out of their mouth ; D
Of course....if they compliment you on anything they are trying to get on your good side for one reason or another!

Unless of course they're gay (like Twilightfan said)
Yes.

no, its a sign that he thinks your elegant. its not really a chat up line just a compliment. like you look nice today...
It depends. Was the man older/way older? Did he say anythig else?

Did you 2 chat after that?
YES definitely!
not always, I will compliment people on scent, jewelry etc with no pick up intent.
Yes hes obviously said it to try and make you feel good so yes, yes, yes...
yeah, definatley.
no. some men are still polite enough to pay a compliment without ulterior motives...
not really.. he may have just thought your perfume smelled good.
Oo your perfume smells good..wanna chat? ;-)

yes i do believe so
not necessarily, it could just mean that he likes your perfume
Hardly. It seems a very gentlemanly thing to do.
Yes, smell is a very powerful sense.
Sorry I don't use chat ups.
Not really no!
Yes, unless he was gay. :P
